"HE NEVER LET ANYONE BRING HIM DOWN FROM HIS DREAM"

This online memorial was created in loving memory of Austin Smith, whose life story is told throughout this memorial website. TO ALL OF AUSTIN'S FAMILY, FEEL "FREE" TO SAVE ANY PICTURE AS "HAPPINESS IS MEANT TO BE SHARED" CONTACT MAWMAW SMITH AT 828-442-6762 if you need any help

Austin Taylor Smith was born August 1st 1996 at Fort Campbell Kentucky to Steve Smith and Stacy Smith .(Stacy later married Todd Ryckewaert)

Most of his early life was spent living on the Army post in Kentucky and then at Fort Benning, GA as his father served his country.

Austin was such a sweet child. He loved attention as do all children. He loved being a "big brother" to Caleb Smith.(he later had a half-brother Seth and half-sister Dakota Ryckewaert)

He decided early that... as he said he "wanted God in his life" and I believe as God was his friend he became "a friend" to so many in life. Austin was only 11 years old but he lived in many different states, so making friends was so natural to him.

THE "POLICE NEWS" REPORTED: An SUV hit and killed an 11-year-old boy shortly after the school bus dropped him off Monday afternoon. Kissimmee Middle School student Austin Smith got off the bus at the intersection of Polynesian Isle Boulevard and Paradise Cay Circle, a couple blocks north of U.S. Highway 192. The bus stopped both sides of traffic as he crossed in front of it to the west side of the road. Smith made it to the other side of the highway and was walking away from his stop as the bus pulled away, when he suddenly darted back into the road, Florida Highway Patrol reports said. “The only thing we can suspect is that he saw something that made him want to cross back,” said agency spokeswoman Trooper Kim Miller, who suggested he saw his friends.

I know that Austin saw his best friend...Jesus...that day.
