Cathryn and you asleep. Amy-Lynn's laps
I'm Colleen Walker's mother, Kelly. This page is dedicated to our beautiful daughter from her daddy Jim Walker, me and all who love her. She was born in Greensboro North Carolina at Moses Cone hospital on July 1, 1988, 45 seconds after her twin Cathryn. They were a healthy 5 lbs 7 oz and 5 lb 4 oz respectively, which is an impressive size for twins. Born only a few days early. She has another older sister Erica and two younger brothers, Curt and Stacy. On August 11th 1988, she passed peacefully in her sleep of SIDS. Not a single day goes by that she isn't thought of and missed terribly. But I've grown to realize God chose us out of all the parents in the world to bless us with this angel for six weeks. I hope this page brings comfort to all who love her and miss her. I thank God for giving me the honor and tremendous blessing of being her mother. We love you and miss you more than words can say. Thank you for the ones baby girl.
All our love,
Mommy, Daddy, Erica and Cathryn, Curtis, Stacy, AJ, Lee,Jaime, Ray, Tommy, Kelly, Lilli, Walker, Stephen and Liam
Daddy and Mommy sad because you had to leave
I made this memorial for our daughter so that her short, but very much loved and cherished life here with us will be remembered. Please learn from her as I did that life is precious and to live every day trying to make this world a better place. She did by just being in our lives. We need to live laugh and love as much as possible every day God gives us because life truly is a temporary gift from above. She has a wonderful Daddy and four brothers and sisters that miss her every day but I know without a doubt she's safe and loved in God's loving arms. She is our guardian angel now. My faith is very strong. I believe with all I have I'll see her again some day. If you visit this page and you've also carry the pain of outliving a child or know someone who is hurting because they have, please read this poem and pass it on. The mother of twins club sent it to me and her Daddy Jim just after she passed and I think it was one of the main things that helped me stay sane. God bless. ~Colleen's proud mommy
I'll Lend You A Child
by Edgar Guest
"I'll lend you for a little time a child of mine," He said.
For you to love - while she lives
And mourn for when she's dead.
It may be six or seven years
Or twenty-two or three,
But will you, till I call her back,
Take care or her for Me? She'll bring her smiles to gladden you,
And should her stay be brief
You'll have her lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay,
Since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.
I've looked this world over
In search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd
Life's lanes, I have selected you.
Now will you give her all your love,
Nor count the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call to
Take her back again?"
I fancied that I heard then say,
"Dear Lord, Thy will be done,
For all the joy Thy child shall bring.
The risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter her with tenderness,
We'll love her while we may,
And for the happiness we've known
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for her
Much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that come
And try to understand."
Colleen very hungry wishing I'd feed her instead of take her picture :)
Your twin is married now. And expecting her son in May. I know you know that. :). William Thomas "Liam" Higginbotham. We're all so excited! We know you'll be there to help her bring him into the world. We love you so. May 5th, 2015- Good job baby girl! I know you were right there to help Cathryn bring little Liam into the world on May 4, 2015. Your sisters are fantastic mothers.
