Thomas Kevin Burdge, 46, passed away at 10:57 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2011, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Betty (Smith) Burdge whom he married 22 years ago on September 10, 1988. Thomas was born April 3, 1965, in York, and was the son of the late Raymond R. and Connie L. (Sweitzer) Burdge. He graduated from Northeastern High School in 1983. He owned and operated T. Burdge Handy Service in Dover and also worked for New Standard in Hellam. He was a former employee of Duplex/Relizon of Emigsville. Thomas was a member of the Ninth Ward Republician Club in York; Shiloh American Legion; Hawks Gunning Club; Wago Club; and Northern Fish & Game in Strinestown. Tom enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, riding his Harley, and his four-wheeler. In addition to his wife Betty, Thomas is survived by his son, Dylon Burdge of Dover; his daughter, Nicole Burdge of Dover; his brothers, Raymond Burdge of Felton and Thomas Gemmill of York; and his sisters, Lorri Tupper and her husband, Gregory of Manchester, and Kimberly Wimmer and her husband, Daniel of Skiatook, Okla.; his stepmothers, Esther Burdge of York Haven and Treva Burdge of York; and several nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Burdge, who passed away in 1986.
