My Butterfly

This online memorial was created in loving memory of Taycia Bertoch, whose life story is told throughout this memorial website. Please sign Taycia's guest book and let us know you came to visit. We will remember Taycia forever.

From the moment Taycia Marie was born I knew she was special, an angel so precious and Beautiful, sent down from Heaven she was our strength in the family.  Taycia was beautiful and captured the attention of everyone she met, her smile was contagious one look at her smile uplifted you and changed your mood; you could not help but smile back at her just as big. Her eyes sparkled like her smile, just as bright, anyone who met her knew how amazing of a person she truly was. Taycia loved her family and friends and would do anything she could for any one of them. She was so small yet had a heart of a giant, listening and helping in any way she could. She always knew the right things to say to make you feel better or the advice you were looking for, she was honest yet kind and understanding to everyone.

Taycia was an Aunt (Auntie Tay Tay) to Zackerry, Chassidy & Dreden whom she loved with all of her heart and soul, they were her inspiration. She loved children and would do anything for them, she believed that the children were the future and wanted to help children in any way that she could.

Taycia ended her live and was removed from life support on October 10, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. this was the most terrible day in our lives, no words could describe the pain and sadness felt when she left.  The world truly lost an amazing Person, at only 18 a life so short, taken much too soon.  She is my Butterfly, her soul free, her pain at rest, and forever she will fly.  I love her and miss her more than I could ever express.   My heart is truly broken and aches like nothing I have ever felt.

Taycia Graduated from Granite Peaks High School Class of 2011, she was a Phoenix, Purple and Gold, Strong and Brave.  She was a future Arizona State University student majoring in Criminal Justice and Social & Behavioral Science focusing on helping Children of Sexual and Physical Abuse.  She worked at Papa Murphy’s pizza and loved working there and made many friends, Bree was a good friend, she always talked so highly of her boss Craig and she was so proud to work there.  She was in a music video that her brother produced, her part a news reporter , that was one of her greatest moments along with her graduation she lit up the whole stage when she walked across to receive her diploma. This was the proudest moment for me as her mother I will never forget that day on June 3rd 2011.

Taycia you taught me more than anyone I have known about life, you have taught me to love and to lose love, to be angry and to forgive, to be happy and to be sad, to have everything and to feel you have nothing, but most importantly you have taught me strength and hope, to really look at life and see it, not take anything for granted for tomorrow you may never have it back.

Taycia you are my inspiration to change the world.  I will do everything I can to make the difference you so badly wanted to make.  I will dedicate the rest of my life to doing what you so strongly wanted to do. I will be your voice, I will tell your story.  I was there when you entered my life and I was there when you exited my life, the most precious moment that I will hold in my heart for all eternity.  I am grateful for all the love and happiness you brought to my life and what you have taught me, your memories will always fill my soul, I see you in the sunrise, I see you in the sunset, I see you in the blue sky filled with white puffy clouds, I hear you in music.   Forever I hold you in my heart so we will never be apart.

Forever your loving Mother....

Taycia wanted to help children anyway she could, she wanted to major in child and social development along with Criminal Justice so she could help all the children she could. She told me one day " Mom we need a house big enough we can take in all the kids that don't have anywere to go or that need out of there current home." My reply was just as soon as I win the Lottery, It will be my first on my list. She always was talking to her class mates and making sure they were having a good day, being there to listen when they need to vent there feelings or problems. She worked in her schools daycare and loved spending time with all the children reading stories, singing and dancing with them.

Taycia left too soon and was unable to start College and make her dreams come true, She did save two lives before she flew high and free. Taycia was a donor and always wanted to help in any way she could being a donor was just one more thing out of many that she did to help people. Threw the help of the Intermountain Donor Services she was able to accomplish some of her dream and I know she is watching over both of them and there families, she is there guarding angel, as she is for so many people. Her left kidney was given to a young male that is a father of two one daughter one son, he enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking and has done well in his recovery. Her Right kidney went to an adult male, who is also doing well in his recovery. Her liver was sent to research which will assist doctors to learn more about diseases and treatments that could help people in the future. Their studies will aid in drug dosing and toxicity studies.

She has since been placed on The Celebration of Life Monument. The monument honors those who have selflessly given the gift of life to others. This monument is located in the heart of Salt Lake City Utah at Library Square.

Taycia we are so very proud of you everything you did for everyone and what you inspired to be makes everyone who new you and many people who never got a change to meet you just to hear your story will be compelled to stand up for what is right and make a difference in this world.

Taycia loved spending time with her family and friends, listening to music, dancing, cooking, hiking, camping, she loved football and her favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. She was the first one ready to organize a water fight at the local park, it would take her and 6 friends half a day just to fill the water balloons. She loved BBQ's and her favorite was BBQ Chicken, Potato Salad and Pasta Salad, Taycia would BBQ if there was a foot of snow on the ground and 15 degree temperature outside, it didn't matter she loved getting the family all together and any excuse she could we would have one, She loved to watch American Idol and that would be a good reason for a BBQ, Twilight was he favorite book series and yes she was team Edward no doubt about it he was her prince. Her favorite movie was also Twilight as well as, Rent the musical, Lion King and Annie she even had a dog named Sandi looked just like the dog in the movie but smaller. She would sing "The Sun will come out Tomorrow, its only a day a way" if ever she was feeling sad.

Taycia loved sitting at the Kitchen table with her friends, sisters and myself, we would just talk about what was going on in each of our lives or if there was a problem in someones live we would set and talk about it with them or ask advise on something. She called it "Our Table Talks" We would plan are yearly Black Friday Christmas shopping, what stores we would go to, who would get this and who would get that. Black Friday was one of our family traditions we did every year together when we were done we would come home take a little nap then go out and pick out our Christmas Tree and put it up and eat Pizza. Taycia loved every Holiday and was the first one to start planning the events she was our family event planner. She will be truly missed by everyone and the Holidays will never be the same yet I still will carry on all of the things she loved.

  As we grow up

As we grow up, we learn that even

the one person that wasn't supposed

to ever let you down probably will.

You will have your heart broken

probably more than once...and it's

harder every time. You'll break

hearts to, so try to remember how

it felt when yours was broken.  You'll

fight with your best friend. You'll

blame a new love for some thongs an

old one did.  You'll cry cuz time is

passing too fast, and  you'll

eventually lose someone you love.

So...take too many pictures, laugh

too much, and love like you have

never been hurt because every 60

seconds you spend upset is a minute

of happiness you can never get back!
