Paul Bromley

This online memorial was created in loving memory of Paul Bromley, whose life we wish you to celebrate with us through this memorial website.

Paul died peacefully at home after coping courageously with a brain tumour for the last two years.

Please sign Paul's guest book and let us know you came to visit.

Paul's spirit and our precious memories of him will live on forever.

Paul's funeral took place immediately after his death.  It was a very small and personal affair, involving only his immediate family.  Much as it would have been nice to have a larger funeral and a chance for his many friends to pay their final respects, this was unfortunately not possible.

Please may I ask well-wishers not to send flowers.  If you wish to help remember him, we ask only that you perhaps leave a message in this guest book (link to the top-left of this page), and perhaps consider making a donation to the East Cheshire Hospice - please read on ...

During Paul's illness, he often spent time at Macclefield's wonderful East Cheshire Hospice.  The care he received there was quite exceptional - music workshops, art lessons, and lots of love and attention.  It also gave me a few precious hours each week, when I could get out of the house to do the shopping.  They do tremendous work, and are dependent largely on donations and volunteer help.   They have a JustGiving page at the link below:

With much love,

Ingrid

Paul's granddaughter Anna read the following poem at his funeral:

HE IS GONE

You can shed tears that he is gone
Or you can smile because he has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him
Or you can be full of the love that you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on
