March 16 2013 - April 11 2013
This online memorial was created in loving memory of Leo Riggs, whose life story is told throughout this memorial website. Please sign Leo's guest book and let us know you came to visit. We will remember Leo forever.
Baby Leo was a happy and healthy baby boy. He was showered with love and affection during his 3 1/2 weeks with us. He touched the lives of so many people in life and in death. We love and miss him to no end.
Someday we will be together again.
Angela waits for Baby Leo
In 3 1/2 weeks, Baby Leo proved to be on a mission. He did things his own way Leo was our unexpected bundle of joy. We had decided to wait a few years after our second daughter was born, but Leo made his own plans.
During labor with the girls, Angela ate like a bird. However with Leo, Angela began to eat eggs and bacon everyday. She always wanted a hamburger for dinner.
As the final week approached of labor, Leo had Angela go through a week of false labor and when he finally did enter the world he gave us quite the scare wearing the umbilical cord like a necklace.
Leo was born at 11:26 pm on 3/16/13.
Leo Terrance Riggs was born to parents Zachary and Angela Riggs on Angela's 31st birthday. Leo was 7 lbs 13 oz. and he was 20 1/2 in. Long. His two sisters, Alyssa and Lily were excited to meet their little brother. After a few days in the hospital we took Leo home as one big happy family.

|The proud parents|
At 2:46 am, on the morning of April 11, we experienced every parents worst fear... Our handsome and supposedly healthy little Leo passed due to unknown causes. We had heard of SIDS, but that wasn't something we would ever go through, right?
In the days and weeks following the Leo's passing, we were surrounded by so much love. Baby Leo's passing had a dramatic effect on so many people. We met some incredible new friends who have helped us honor Leo's life and who stood by us when we needed people to just be near.
We have been learning so much about SIDS and child loss and are so saddened by the number of children who succumb to SIDS each year. We hope that people stop for just a moment and learn about SIDS. It is a medical mystery and it is so confusing and sad for the survivors. We know our little guy is up in Heaven and that we will see him again someday. Until then, we have made it our mission to help other bereaved parents in memory of our beautiful son, Leo Terrance Riggs, who changed our lives forever.
|We love you, Leo!|
