Hector J. Rosso, J.D. (85)
Born in Manati, Puerto Rico on June 27, 1920. He passed away on May 1, 2006 while at Sunnyside Transitional Medical Unit in Torrance, California.
He was a devoted husband of 62 years; adored father of Deborah Chambers, Phillip Rosso, and Cheryl Rosso-Streitz.
Hector was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Cheryl Rosso, and his sister, Ana Maria Rodriguez. Hector is survived by his wife, Daphne Knight Rosso, and three children.
Hector left Puerto Rico in 1940 when he entered the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland (Class of 1944). He went onto graduate from Stanford Law School in 1950. He settled in San Bernardino, California where he practiced Law for 37 years. Upon retirement he moved to Florida and purchased a 47’ sailboat with dreams of sailing around the world.
He was the patriarch of the Rosso family, the mentor to many, the giver of his time and wealth of wisdom and respect.
Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, May 13, at 1:45pm at St. Adelaide’s Church, 27457 E. Base Line St, Highland. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery, 570 E. Highland Avenue, San Bernardino
