Tim and I made a promise to each other on 11/18/72 in front of God, family and friends to love and cherish each other till death due us part. Many a man has made this promise and yet more and more sacred vows are hollow and broken promises, but not my Tim. We had our hard times and wondered how we would make it, the answer was always, "I love you, baby." With these few words came 25 years of true love and happiness.
Tim was one of the all time great fathers to his three children, Rick 21, Chuck 19 and Stephani 15. He never missed any special events that come with raising and loving 2 sons and a daughter. Nor did he miss out on those not so special things. Our children always knew that their Dad would always be there for them no matter what the situation. I'm sure that even though they lost their Dad at such a young age the foundation he laid down will carry them through the tough times ahead.
Tim loved life to the fullest. He was a true outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, dive for abalone and was an expert backpacker. A favorite family summer vacation was to go camping along the ocean where there was sure to be plenty of life and wonder to explore and enjoy.
Tim worked hard for 30 years as a union plumber. Then in 1992 we opened Petersen Plumbing. Tim ran his business the old fashion way, good honest hard work at an honest and fair cost to his clients. The business grew rapidly over the next five years. Everything that he had worked so hard to achive was falling into place.
Then on 12/21/96 life as we knew it changed forever. Tim suffered 2 gran mol rolling seizures which led to the diagnosis of a fatal brain tumor. He fought hard through brain surgery and radiation treatments for the next four months.
Tim died at home on April 21, 1997.
I love you whole bunches baby!
