Words to describe exactly how wonderful Rose actually was would truly
take an eternity. The love and joy that she brought into people's lives is
Born Rose Gagliano to the late Domenico and Anna Gagliano (nee Zambito)
in 1924. Her father passed away when she was only three and most of her
upbringing was provided by her paternal grandparents. Rose was the sister of
the late Anthony Gagliano, Laura, and Palma(Babe).
Mrs. Blasco spent her early years taking care of her in-laws along with
her seven children. As a grandmother she wiped away the tears and cared for
many scraped knees. As a mother, her children and grandchildren alike,
attest to her dedication and love as the matriarch of the family as
unconditional and never ending.
Rose was a natural in the kitchen! Family, friends, and neighbors alike
looked forward to the large Italian dinners that were a tradition every
Sunday. Rose was indeed a true hostess.
Toward the latter part of her life, Rose started to have problems with
her legs and had a rough time getting around. Her last two and a half years
were spent bedridden due to kidney failure. Rose suffered very much during
that time and her entire family kept vigil at her bedside. On May 2, 1997,
Rose took her last breaths while in a coma. The loss of our Rose will stay
with us our entire lives. Till we are reunited in Heaven, our lives will
always be incomplete.
